PESHAWAR, Apr 17 (APP):A high-level meeting chaired by Provincial Minister for Health, Khaleeq ur Rehman here Friday reviewed review key initiatives for strengthening healthcare infrastructure in the province.
During the meeting, the District Health Officer (DHO) Nowshera presented a comprehensive proposal for construction of a Category-B Hospital in the Provincial Housing Authority (PHA) Housing Scheme, Jaluzai, District Nowshera.
It was told that proposed hospital, once implemented, is expected to cater to the healthcare needs of approximately 1 million population from surrounding areas of District Nowshera and District Peshawar. In line with the government’s forward-looking vision, the facility is also planned to serve as a future health hub for the PHA Housing Scheme and the greater Peshawar Valley region, it was told.
The project would not only enhance access to quality healthcare services but will also contribute to local economic development by creating employment opportunities and supporting allied activities in the area.
The proposed hospital would offer 24/7 emergency services, along with specialized care in more than 13 medical specialties supported by advanced diagnostic facilities to ensure comprehensive patient care under one roof.
Minister Health Khaleeq ur Rehman emphasized the importance of timely execution of the project and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to improving healthcare delivery across the province. He directed the concerned authorities to take necessary steps for the swift processing and implementation of the proposal.
