Hina, Ombudsperson agree to strengthen measures for women protection

LAHORE, Apr 17 (APP):Punjab Women Protection Authority Chairperson Hina Parvez Butt met Provincial Ombudsperson for Women Dr. Najma Afzal Khan to discuss key issues related to women’s protection and rights, agreeing to enhance institutional coordination for swift justice.
During the meeting, Hina Parvez Butt congratulated Dr. Najma Afzal Khan on assuming her office. Both sides emphasised strengthening measures to protect women from harassment and ensuring prompt redressal of complaints.
Speaking on the occasion, Hina said that protecting women from harassment and safeguarding their rights was a shared responsibility, adding that strong coordination among institutions was essential to provide immediate relief and effective justice.
She said that, in line with the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz, efforts would continue to ensure a safer environment for women through improved institutional linkages.
Dr. Najma Afzal Khan said that the Ombudsperson’s office was providing facilities for prompt registration and resolution of harassment complaints, ensuring free and speedy justice for women.
