BAHAWALPUR, Apr 16 (APP): BAHAWALPUR (APP): Bahawalpur Police have launched a grand operation against anti-social elements, resulting in the arrest of 14 suspects in various actions.
According to a spokesman for Bahawalpur police, a large quantity of liquor and drugs has been recovered, adding that in line with the vision of the Chief Minister of Punjab for a province free from drugs and illegal weapons, and following the directives of the Inspector General of Police Punjab, the campaign against criminals continued to achieve major successes.
“Police from several police stations including Kotwali, Cantt, Baghdad-ul-Jadeed, Dhor Kot, and City Yazman stations conducted vigorous operations and arrested 10 individuals involved in liquor trade, recovering 210 liters of alcohol from their possession,” he said, adding that similarly, police from PS Civil Lines, PS Dhor Kot, and PS Qaimpur stations tightened the noose around drug dealers, arresting four suspects and recovering over two kilograms of hashish, along with 20 grams of crystal meth (ice) from them.
Separate cases have been registered against the arrested individuals, and investigations are underway.
