200 saplings planted at THQ Hospital Kallar Syedan under plantation drive

RAWALPINDI, Apr 13 (APP):As part of the ongoing plantation drive in Tehsil Kallar Syedan, 200 saplings were planted at the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital (THQ) Kallar Syedan under the supervision of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Rawalpindi.
Member Provincial Assembly Raja Sagheer Ahmed and Medical Superintendent Dr Abida Parveen also attended the event and planted saplings. They termed tree plantation essential to reduce environmental pollution and improve public health, particularly in healthcare facilities.
During the drive, saplings were planted across various parts of the hospital, including around patient wards and residential quarters, aiming to enhance the environment and provide a healthier atmosphere for patients and staff.
Officials said the initiative was designed not only to improve the hospital’s surroundings but also to raise awareness about the importance of plantation among the public.
The EPA, in collaboration with the Assistant Commissioner Kallar Syedan and local industries, also participated in broader plantation activities in the area.
Authorities said continued plantation efforts were being carried out to promote environmental improvement and contribute towards the vision of a greener Punjab.
The district administration has urged citizens to actively participate in plantation campaigns and plant more trees in their homes, streets and surrounding areas to help improve the environment.
