The Punjab government has decided to extend the free solar panel scheme by six months, more solar systems will be distributed to low-income consumers through a lottery, with additional funds.

LAHORE, Apr 13 (APP):The Punjab government has decided to extend the free solar panel scheme by six months, more solar systems will be distributed to low-income consumers through a lottery, with additional funds.
Official sources said that on the orders of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, the period of the scheme was extended till December 2026, a total of more than 94000 systems will be provided, which will cost about Rs.10 billion.
Free solar systems will be provided to low-income consumers through a lottery.
The scheme will be implemented in all districts and tehsils of Punjab. So far, more than 800,000 applications have been received. Earlier, the scheme was announced till June 2026.
