Anti-Polio drive inaugurated

NOWSHERA VIRKAN, Apr 13 (APP):Assistant Commissioner (AC) Saadia Jamal on Monday inaugurated a four-day anti-polio campaign here at the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital .

During the drive, a total of 133,360 children under the age of five would be administered anti-polio drops to protect them against the disease.

The officials sources said that 391 teams had been deployed for the campaign, including 356 mobile teams, 27 fixed teams and eight transit teams. The campaign will be supervised by 25 Union Council Medical Officers and 73 area in-charges.

The authorities have also directed Union Council secretaries and patwaris to assist polio teams to ensure the success of the campaign.
