ISLAMABAD, Apr 09 (APP):Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police conducted large-scale joint grand combing and search operations across various areas of the federal capital, detaining 33 suspects including one illegal Afghan national.
An official told APP on Thursday that the operations were carried out in the jurisdictions of Humak, Sumbal, Shahzad Town, Sabzi Mandi, Karachi Company, and Tarnol police stations under the supervision of zonal SPs.
He said lady police officials also participated in the operations to ensure effective checking.
During the operations, a total of 663 individuals and 348 households were checked.
The official said 38 shops and 59 hotels were also inspected during the search.
He said 215 motorcycles and 61 vehicles were examined during the drive.
The official said 33 suspicious individuals, including one illegal Afghan national, along with 11 motorcycles were shifted to relevant police stations for further verification.
He said the IGP Islamabad had issued special directives to conduct grand search operations across the district to eliminate crime and ensure the safety of citizens.
The official urged citizens to cooperate with police during checking and immediately report any suspicious activity.
