With 8.2% growth, workers’ remittances surpass US $ 30 billion in 9 months of FY26

KARACHI, Apr 08 (APP):The Workers’ remittances from overseas to Pakistan surpassed US $ 30 billion during the first 9 months of fiscal year 2025-26, depicting 8.2 percent growth over the corresponding period of previous fiscal year.
“Cumulatively, workers’ remittances increased by 8.2 percent to US$ 30.3 billion during Jul-Mar FY26, compared to
US$ 28.0 billion received during the same period last year,” the State Bank of Pakistan reported on Wednesday.
On a monthly basis, workers’ remittances were recorded at $ 3.83 billion during March 2026, showing 16.5% increase as compared to $3.29 billion inflows in February 2026. However, on a yearly basis, remittance inflows registered a decline of 5.5% in comparison to $ 4.05 billion inflows of March 2025.
Workers’ Remittances during March 2026 were mainly sourced from Saudi Arabia (US$918.4 million), United Arab Emirates (US$823.7 million), United Kingdom (US$587.3 million), other GCC countries (US$366.7 million) and United States of America (US$359.3 million).
The contribution of expatriates in remittances from European Union countries during March 2026 recorded as $413.8 million including $121.8 million from Italy, $72.3 million from Spain, $65.2 million from Germany, $44.8 million from France, $40.8 million from Greece and $23 million from Ireland.
Overseas workers also contributed to the remittances from Australia with inflows of $105.4 million, Canada $80.8 million, South Africa $24.6 million, Malaysia $17 million, Norway $13.4 million, South Korea $8.4 million, Switzerland $4.4 million and Japan $6.7 million.
