District Admin reviews polio preparedness ahead of April 13 campaign

LOWER DIR, Apr 08 (APP): A high-level meeting regarding preparations for the upcoming anti-polio campaign starting from April 13 was held here under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Shahab Ali Shah, on Wednesday.
Officials from Lower Dir district administration attended the meeting via Zoom, including Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Wajid Ali Khan, District Health Officer Dr. Muhammad Niaz Afridi, N-Staff Officer Dr. Ehsanullah, EPI Coordinator Dr. Nasir Rahim, and Dr. Najeeb representing the World Health Organization.
During the session, directives were issued to all stakeholders regarding achieving polio targets and ensuring effective security arrangements during the campaign.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) held a detailed discussion with the District Health Officer on various polio indicators, including low-performing union councils and factors that hindered the achievement of desired results in previous campaigns.
Emphasis was laid on implementing a coordinated strategy in line with the polio micro-plan to ensure timely coverage of all targets.
All stakeholders were directed to take necessary steps for improving performance and ensuring the success of the upcoming polio drive in the district.
According to APP correspondent district officials reaffirmed their commitment to achieving polio eradication goals through enhanced coordination and effective planning.
