DC, MNA review drainage, low-lying areas in Rawalpindi amid ongoing rains

RAWALPINDI, Apr 08 (APP): Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rawalpindi Dr Hassan Waqar Cheema, accompanied by Member of the National Assembly (MNA) Tahira Aurangzeb, on Wednesday conducted a detailed inspection of various points along Nullah Leh and low-lying areas across the city affected by ongoing rains.
During the visit, they reviewed drainage work carried out by the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) and received briefings from the officers concerned.
The DC directed that all available resources be deployed to promptly address problems faced by residents and that drainage operations continue without interruption. He said the administration and WASA teams were active in the field and ensuring relief to citizens remained the top priority.
MNA Tahira Aurangzeb appreciated the administration’s performance, stating that all relevant agencies were working in a coordinated manner to facilitate the public. She described the overall situation and ongoing activities as satisfactory.
The DC instructed the departments concerned to remain alert and fully prepared to respond to any emergency.
