CPO chairs security review meeting, orders strict enforcement of Section 144 in Rawalpindi

City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Khalid Mahmood Hamdani on Wednesday chaired a high-level meeting at the Police Lines Headquarters to review security arrangements and measures for maintaining law and order across the Rawalpindi District.

RAWALPINDI, Apr 08 (APP): City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Khalid Mahmood Hamdani on Wednesday chaired a high-level meeting at the Police Lines Headquarters to review security arrangements and measures for maintaining law and order across the Rawalpindi District.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations, SSP Investigation, Chief Traffic Officer, Superintendent of Police (SP) Headquarters, SP Security, divisional SPs, Sub-Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs) and other officers attended the meeting, where the focus remained on strict enforcement of Section 144.
The participants briefed the CPO on security arrangements and steps taken to ensure public safety and order.
The meeting reviewed monitoring mechanisms, deployment strategies and coordination among field formations.
The CPO directed that effective security arrangements be ensured at all times, emphasising vigilance and proactive policing. He said Section 144 had been enforced in Rawalpindi and that no unlawful assembly, protest or rally would be allowed.
He added that continuous monitoring was being carried out through Safe City and other CCTV cameras, and warned that strict action would be taken against elements found involved in lawlessness or mischief.
CPO Hamdani urged citizens to refrain from participating in any unlawful activity, stating that those inciting or engaging in such acts would face legal action.
He reiterated that the protection of life and property of citizens and upholding the writ of the law remained the police’s top priority, and assured that all necessary measures would be taken to maintain peace in the district.
