ISLAMABAD, Apr 8 (APP): Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs, Gilgit-Baltistan and SAFRON, and President of PML-N Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Amir Muqam, on Wednesday lauded Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir for Pakistan’s decisive diplomatic role in securing a ceasefire between the United States and Iran, stating that the breakthrough averted a potentially dangerous escalation and underscored Islamabad’s growing influence on the global stage.

In a statement, Mr Muqam said he “wholeheartedly congratulates” the Prime Minister and the Army Chief for ensuring the ceasefire, describing it as a major diplomatic success for Pakistan.

He emphasised that Pakistan’s constructive and proactive diplomacy had once again proven effective at the international level.

Calling the development a “remarkable diplomatic achievement,” the minister said the ceasefire between Washington and Tehran reflected Pakistan’s responsible and stabilising role in regional and global affairs.

He further noted that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s message on the development received widespread international attention, becoming a focal point across global media platforms. According to the minister, leading international television networks and newspapers prominently featured the premier’s statement as a top story, acknowledging Pakistan’s role in defusing tensions.
