PESHAWAR, Apr 08 (APP):Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi here Wednesday said that uniformed development of all districts of the province was the top priority of the Provincial Government.
He was addressing a meeting of the Planning and Development Department held under his chairmanship.
According to the spokesperson of the Chief Minister House Peshawar, the meeting reviewed new projects for the Annual Development Program 2026–27 in the sectors of social welfare, sports, tourism, relief, and transport.
The Chief Minister directed that the availability of rescue stations be ensured in all tehsils. He also instructed that the province’s socio-economic registry be completed by December.
Similarly, directions were given to assess the potential for promoting the electric bikes and scooters industry, as well as heli-tourism.
The meeting proposed establishing new Zamung Kor centers, schools for deaf and mute children, and upgrading existing schools. Proposals were also made for upgrading Dar-ul-Amans (shelter homes), establishing new ones, and setting up workshops for bionic artificial limbs.
The meeting also considered educational stipends and scholarships for special children, as well as the establishment of new educational complexes.
 Proposals included building tehsil-level grounds in Hazara and Malakand, sports complexes in Battagram and Upper Dir, indoor game facilities for women, and youth centers.
Plans were proposed for discovering new tourist destinations, restoring archaeological sites, rehabilitating historical railway stations, and promoting adventure tourism.
A plan to provide electric scooters to working women and female students was also discussed. Proposals were made for a rail service from Kohat to Kharlachi, a suburban train system, double-decker electric buses for tourism, and the purchase of new electric buses for the BRT system.
The meeting also proposed extending the BRT Peshawar network to Charsadda, Nowshera, and Khyber. Additionally, plans were suggested for establishing new rescue stations and extending emergency rescue services in mining districts to include mine rescue operations.
While addressing the meeting, the Chief Minister said that it is the government’s responsibility to ensure that the benefits of development reach every part of the province, and that the upcoming development program will prove to be a significant milestone in the province’s economic and social progress.
