LAHORE, Apr 07 (APP): Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has directed all divisional and district administrations to remain on high alert in view of the forecast of heavy rainfall in Lahore and other cities of the province.
The CM emphasized the need for proactive measures to prevent urban flooding and ensure uninterrupted public convenience during the wet spell. She instructed that all available drainage and sewerage infrastructure of WASA Punjab be fully activated across districts to manage rainwater accumulation effectively and in a timely manner. She further directed relevant departments to ensure the deployment of modern machinery at sensitive and low-lying points to accelerate water disposal operations.
CM Maryam Nawaz said that since the establishment and strengthening of WASA Punjab, the public must experience visible improvement in service delivery, particularly during emergencies such as heavy rainfall. She stressed that timely response and coordination among field teams should remain the top priority to minimize disruption to daily life.
