PESHAWAR, Apr 07 (APP): MOL Pakistan Oil and Gas Company B.V. has officially handed over two state-of-the-art, fully equipped ambulances to the districts of Hangu and Karak in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
This initiative forms a core component of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme and aims to strengthen emergency medical response and improve healthcare accessibility across the province.
Ikram Ullah Khan, Additional Chief Secretary (Home and Tribal Affairs), Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, was chief guest of the handing over ceremony.
During the event, Mr Ali Murtaza Abbas, Regional Vice President of MOL Group, formally handed over the ambulance keys to provincial authorities in the presence of senior government officials and company representatives.
The newly provided ambulances are intended to bridge critical gaps in rapid-response medical care for underserved areas, enabling residents of remote parts of Hangu and Karak to reach essential healthcare facilities during the “golden hour” of medical emergencies.
Speaking at the occasion, Mr Ikram Ullah Khan, Additional Chief Secretary, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, said, “Reliable emergency transport is often the deciding factor in saving lives. We value this contribution from MOL Pakistan, as it directly addresses a critical need within our healthcare network. This collaboration sets a strong example of how the private sector can align with government priorities to uplift local communities.”
Mr Ali Murtaza Abbas, Regional Vice President, MOL Group, added, “Our presence in any region is defined by the positive footprint we leave behind. By reinforcing healthcare infrastructure in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, we are fulfilling our responsibility as a trusted energy partner. The health and safety of our host communities remain as important to us as our operations.”
Mr Zsolt Ádám László, CEO of MOL Pakistan, stated that for the company, these ambulances symbolize a deep-rooted partnership with the people of Hangu and Karak.
“We are not merely providing equipment; we are strengthening a vital safety net for the communities we serve,” he said, adding that MOL Pakistan remains committed to sustainable social investments that create long-term, tangible improvements in quality of life.
MOL Pakistan, a wholly owned subsidiary of Hungary-based MOL Group, has been an integral part of Pakistan’s energy sector since 1999.
The company holds working interests in several key blocks and operates the TAL and Margalla Blocks. Through initiatives such as this ambulance donation, MOL Pakistan continues to contribute meaningfully to both national energy security and socio-economic development, reflecting its longstanding commitment to the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and beyond.
