Belarus’ Ostapenkov off to good start at ATP Challenger Wuning

MINSK, Apr 7 (BelTA/APP): Belarus’ Daniil Ostapenkov started his run at the ATP Challenger tournament in Wuning, China, with a 7-6 (7-3), 6-4 win over Qian Sun of China, BelTA has learned.

The match lasted 1 hour and 35 minutes. In the Round of 16, Daniil Ostapenkov will face Russian Ilya Simakin. Daniil Ostapenkov made it to the main draw through qualifying, where he beat Park Ui-sung from South Korea, 6-2, 6-4. Tomorrow, in the doubles opener, the Belarusian pair Daniil Ostapenkov / Sergey Betov will take on the Japanese duo Naoki Tajima / Kaichi Uchida.

In the first round of the 2026 Upper Austria Ladies Linz, Belarus’ Aliaksandra Sasnovich will play Karolína Plíšková of the Czech Republic. In qualifying, Aliaksandra Sasnovich defeated Ukrainian Anhelina Kalinina and Czech Linda Fruhvirtová without dropping a single set.
