DPM reviews fuel subsidy scheme

ISLAMABAD, Apr 06 (APP):Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar Monday chaired a meeting of the National Steering Committee on the Fuel Subsidy Scheme.
He stressed that relief to the public, including subsidies for motorbikes, public transport, and agriculture, must become operational at the earliest.
He was briefed that, with the support of the State Bank of Pakistan and provincial authorities, disbursement for public service transport vehicles has begun. Provincial representatives also informed that the mobile application for motorcycle subsidy registration has been launched, with disbursement set to commence from this evening.
DPM/FM emphasized that the mechanism should be simple, accessible, transparent, and widely publicized to ensure maximum benefit for deserving citizens.
The meeting was attended by the Minister for IT & Telecom, SAPM Tariq Bajwa, Secretary IT & Telecom, Secretary Petroleum, Chief Secretaries of all provinces, and other senior government officials from relevant departments.
