Police arrested 28 suspects belonging to 12 criminal gangs during a month-long crackdown in March, recovering stolen valuables worth over Rs.7.16 million, officials said on Monday.

SARGODHA, Apr 06 (APP): Police arrested 28 suspects belonging to 12 criminal gangs during a month-long crackdown in March, recovering stolen valuables worth over Rs.7.16 million, officials said on Monday.
The operation was launched on the directives of District Police Officer(DPO) Mohammad Sohaib Ashraf as part of a district-wide clean-up campaign against criminal elements, according to a statement issued by the DPO office.
A police spokesperson said the arrested suspects were involved in multiple cases of robbery, theft and burglary across different areas of the district.
Reviewing the performance, DPO Ashraf said that police were on high alert to safeguard citizens’ lives and property, adding that a zero tolerance policy was being strictly enforced against criminals.
He said that the ongoing crackdown aimed to provide relief to residents and ensure law and order in the district.
