Zainab Ali Naqvi Memorial World Juniors Tennis C’ship from Monday

Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) will host the ITF Pakistan 3rd Zainab Ali Naqvi Memorial World Juniors Tennis Championship 2026 (Leg-1) from Monday at the PTF Tennis Complex, Islamabad.

ISLAMABAD, Apr 05 (APP): Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) will host the ITF Pakistan 3rd Zainab Ali Naqvi Memorial World Juniors Tennis Championship 2026 (Leg-1) from Monday at the PTF Tennis Complex, Islamabad.
According to a PTF press release, a total of 39 players, including 24 boys and 15 girls from 14 countries, will feature in the prestigious junior event. Participating nations include Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Singapore, Japan, China, Australia, Russia, Poland, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Thailand.
The championship is being held in memory of promising young player Zainab Ali Naqvi, who tragically passed away on February 12, 2024, after suffering a heart attack while competing in an ITF junior event in Islamabad.
PTF President Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi, along with Secretary General Col. Zia-ud-Din Tufail and other officials, paid rich tribute to the late player, stating that the tournament serves as a meaningful initiative to honour her legacy and keep her memory alive.
They also extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for strength and patience to bear the irreparable loss.
The federation warmly welcomed all participating players and expressed confidence that the event would provide an excellent platform for emerging talent to showcase their skills.
The main draw matches in both boys’ and girls’ categories will commence on Monday at 10:00 am.
