KP CM greets Christian community on Easter, pledges minority rights protection

PESHAWAR, Apr 05 (APP): Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi extended his heartfelt congratulations to the Christian community across Pakistan, and specifically within the province, on the occasion of Easter.
In a statement issued by CM Secretariat on Sunday, Chief Minister emphasized that provincial government fully shares in joy of festival, reinforcing principle that all minorities in Pakistan enjoy equal rights as citizens.
He highlighted that both teachings of Islam and Constitution of Pakistan guarantee minorities absolute freedom to celebrate their religious rituals and festivals without restraint.
He further underscored that welfare, safety, and constitutional protection of minority communities remain top priorities for current provincial administration.
Acknowledging historical contributions of Christian community, he noted that their role in nation’s construction and development was deeply valued by entire country.
Given complexities of current national and international landscape, KP CM stressed that promoting interfaith harmony at all levels was now more essential than ever to ensure a peaceful society.
