Balochistan CM extends Easter greetings, reaffirms minority rights and interfaith harmony

QUETTA, Apr 05 (APP): Balochistan Chief Minister, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, extended warm Easter greetings to the Christian community, emphasizing the values of peace, love, and humanity that the festival represents.
In his message on Sunday, Sarfraz Bugti said Easter is a celebration of hope, new beginnings, and goodwill, reminding society to strengthen tolerance, mutual respect, and brotherhood as the foundations of a civilized and peaceful community.
The Chief Minister reaffirmed that the Balochistan government was committed to promoting interfaith harmony and social cohesion through practical and effective measures. He stressed that protecting the rights of minorities remained a top priority, with equal opportunities and complete religious freedom guaranteed to all communities in the province.
Sarfraz Bugti highlighted several initiatives for minority welfare, including establishment of Balochistan’s first Minority Endowment Fund. “A special quota for minorities under the Benazir Bhutto Scholarship Program, covering education from matriculation to PhD level. Development projects aimed at improving the welfare and empowerment of minority communities.”
He praised the Christian community for its positive and valuable contributions to the province and the country, noting their role in social and economic development as “commendable and worthy of appreciation.”
Reiterating his government’s resolve, Sarfraz Bugti added “the Balochistan government is pursuing a comprehensive strategy to safeguard, uplift, and empower minorities. All resources are being utilized to build a peaceful, harmonious and prosperous Balochistan.”
