ISLAMABAD, Apr 05 (APP):Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police have launched large-scale combing and search operations across the federal capital, detaining 88 suspects including four illegal Afghan nationals during the drive against criminal elements and illegal residents.

An official told APP on Sunday that the operations were conducted under the supervision of zonal SPs.
He said lady police officials also participated in the operations to ensure effective checking.
During the operations, a total of 2,679 individuals and 1,133 households were checked, while 338 shops and 98 hotels were also inspected.
The official said 958 motorcycles and 356 vehicles were examined during the drive.
He said 88 suspicious individuals, including four illegal Afghan nationals, along with 74 motorcycles were shifted to relevant police stations for further verification.
He said the IGP Islamabad had issued special directives to conduct grand search operations across the district to eliminate crime and ensure the safety of citizens.
The official urged citizens to cooperate with police during checking and immediately report any suspicious activity.
