Deadly rains wreak havoc in KP: 30 killed, dozens injured, homes destroyed

PESHAWAR, Apr 05 (APP):Torrential rains have caused widespread devastation across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, leaving at least 30 people dead, 85 injured, and damaging 140 houses, according to a report released by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA).
The report stated that multiple incidents of roof and wall collapses during the rains led to the casualties. Among the deceased were five men, five women, and 20 children, while the injured included 36 men, 11 women, and 38 children.
In addition to human losses, at least 41 livestock perished, adding to the financial hardships faced by affected families.
The PDMA report revealed that 25 houses were completely destroyed, while 115 sustained partial damage. Furthermore, two schools and six other buildings were also affected.
Districts including Bannu, Bajaur, Hangu, Shangla, Orakzai, and Mohmand were among the worst hit, with a high number of roof collapse incidents reported.
Authorities have directed district administrations to expedite relief and rehabilitation efforts for the affected families.
