Punjab govt leads in public relief, says Azma Bokhari

LAHORE, Apr 04 (APP):Punjab Minister for Information and Culture Azma Bokhari has said that the Punjab government has surpassed all other provinces in providing tangible relief to the people.
She stated that as far as public welfare and facilitation are concerned, the Punjab government will always remain at the forefront.
In an official statement issued on Saturday, Azma Bokhari lauded the pro-people initiatives of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, noting that the CM derives genuine satisfaction from serving the public. “The Chief Minister has never left the people of Punjab alone; she stands as a pillar of support for her people in every hour of need,” the Minister remarked.
Discussing transport reforms, the provincial minister highlighted that CM Maryam Nawaz has won public approval by making public transport completely free across Punjab. She clarified that these free travel facilities will continue as long as the current war-like situation persists.
She also addressed the agricultural sector, noting that the chief minister prioritizes the welfare of farmers in every policy decision. Referring to historic measures taken over the last two years, she said, “The farmers of Punjab provide food security to the entire country, and their prosperity remains our top priority.”
The Information Minister criticized opposition parties, stating that those who claim to be public well-wishers on social media remain oblivious to people’s struggles, while their own provincial governments continue to remain inactive.
Commenting on federal initiatives, she praised Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif for providing substantial relief by reducing petrol prices by an additional Rs80. She further noted that the Prime Minister, rather than passing the burden onto the public, has implemented salary cuts for his cabinet, with the savings directly benefiting the common man.
