PESHAWAR, Apr 04 (APP):Following the recent torrential rains in Peshawar, more than 120 people have been safely evacuated from their homes and shifted to secure locations, Rescue 1122 spokesperson said on Saturday.
The operation was conducted under the supervision of District Emergency Officer Iftikhar Khan.
The de-watering teams of Rescue 1122 Peshawar were immediately moved after receiving reports of rainwater accumulation in areas including Safiya Home, Warsak Road, Shaheen Housing Society, Budhni Bridge, Sardar Colony, Board Bazaar, Bara Bridge, and Umar Gul Road.
Upon arrival at the sites, the teams promptly initiated de-watering operations using modern machinery and equipment, accelerating the drainage process and removing water from the affected areas.
The rainwater had entered various homes and neighborhoods in Sardar Garhi. The rescue personnel carried out effective operations and safely evacuated more than 120 people from their homes to secure locations.
Additionally, rescue teams made continuous announcements while standing near the drainage channels, advising the public to stay away from these areas for their safety.
The operations are ongoing to provide relief to the public and to effectively respond to any potential emergency situations.
