PM expresses pride over induction of PNS Khyber into Navy fleet

LAHORE, Apr 04 (APP):Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday expressed heartfelt pleasure and pride over the induction of the modern warship PNS Khyber into the Pakistan Navy fleet, terming it a significant milestone in strengthening the country’s defence capabilities and ensuring effective protection of maritime borders.

The prime minister stated that Pakistan’s geographical location holds immense importance as major global trade and energy routes pass through its maritime domain. He emphasized that a strong, balanced, and technologically advanced navy is essential to safeguard national interests and secure sea lines of communication.

Referring to the “Marka-e-Haq ,” the prime minister praised the professionalism and strategic capabilities of the Pakistan Navy, stating that its performance compelled the enemy to retreat.

He reaffirmed that Pakistan will take all necessary measures to protect its sovereignty and maritime interests. He added that modern war platforms, including PNS Khyber and the upcoming Hangor-class submarines, will significantly enhance the operational capability, defence strength, and strategic reach of the Pakistan Navy.

The prime minister further stated that the government remains committed to equipping the Pakistan Navy in line with modern requirements to effectively meet emerging challenges.
