SRSO inaugurates garment unit in Umerkot to boost local economy
SUKKUR, Apr 03 (APP):Sindh Rural Support Organization (SRSO), with the support of the Government of Sindh on Friday successfully established the Parhyar Garment Unit in Dhoronaro, Taluka and District Umerkot, under the People’s Poverty Reduction Program (PPRP) through its Enterprise Development Fund (EDF) component.
The initiative aims to promote sustainable livelihoods and create income generating opportunities for local communities. The garment unit was formally inaugurated by Mian Pir Mohammad Khalid Walhari, Vice Chairman District Council Umerkot, who appreciated the efforts of SRSO and the Sindh Government in introducing development initiatives that directly benefit the rural population.
He emphasized the importance of such projects in reducing poverty and strengthening the local economy. The Parhyar Garment Unit is expected to generate employment opportunities for local men and women, particularly empowering women by providing them with accessible and dignified livelihood options.
