Punjab Health dept seeks FIA action over anti-govt social media campaign

LAHORE, Apr 03 (APP): The Department of Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Punjab has approached the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Cyber Crime Wing, Lahore, seeking legal action against the administrator of a Facebook page allegedly involved in running a malicious campaign against the government.

According to an official letter sent to the Director FIA Cyber Crime Wing on Friday, the page titled “Grand Health Alliance” has been accused of spreading content that incites individuals associated with the health sector. The department expressed concern that such activities are posing a serious threat to the smooth provision of public healthcare services.

The letter further stated that the campaign on social media is negatively influencing the healthcare environment and could disrupt essential services for patients. Authorities have urged the FIA to take action against the page under relevant cybercrime and legal provisions.

The department emphasized the need to curb such activities to ensure uninterrupted healthcare services and maintain stability within the public health system.
