Dera police foil Silver smuggling bid, seize 100 kg of Silver

The district police have foiled a major smuggling attempt and recovered 100 kilograms of silver worth millions of rupees, arresting two suspects during a targeted operation in the Saddar Division.

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Apr 03 (APP):The district police have foiled a major smuggling attempt and recovered 100 kilograms of silver worth millions of rupees, arresting two suspects during a targeted operation in the Saddar Division.
Acting on the directions of District Police Officer Ziauddin Ahmed, a police team led by SP Saddar Asif Mahmood Khan, along with SHO Taib Din and Incharge Aman Mela Check Post Muhammad Khalid, intercepted a white colored car bearing registration number (BAD-887) coming from Balochistan for routine checking.
During the search, the police discovered concealed compartments in the vehicle containing a large quantity of illegally smuggled silver.
 The recovered silver weighed 100 kilograms upon measurement.
The suspects, identified as Muhammad Waqar son of Abdul Sattar and Ramzan son of Nazir Ahmad, residents of Kundian in Mianwali district, were taken into custody at the scene.
Following legal formalities, the seized silver and vehicle were handed over to customs authorities for further investigation and necessary action.
