ISLAMABAD, Apr 1 (APP): The Digital Media team won a friendly cricket match against the National Media team on Wednesday at Shalimar Cricket Ground, organized by the National Press Club Islamabad.
Federal Minister for Culture and National Heritage Huzaifa Rehman and Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Broadcasting, Daniyal Chaudhry graced the event as the chief guest and guest of honour, respectively.
Batting first after winning the toss, Digital Media posted 138 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 15 overs. Kashif Majeed led the innings with an impressive 62 runs. From the National Media side, Abrar Astori claimed three wickets and was later named Best Bowler.
In reply, National Media managed 110 runs in their allotted 15 overs, with Haroon Mughal scoring 40 runs, as Digital Media secured a 28-run victory.
Chief guest Huzaifa Rehman and guest of honour Daniyal Chaudhry distributed prizes among the players.
Kashif Majeed was declared Player of the Match for his 62-run innings, while the winning trophy was presented to Digital Media captain Ahmer Najeeb Satti.
Speaking on the occasion, Daniyal Chaudhry said that the incumbent government is leaving no stone unturned to provide sports facilities and ensure the availability of grounds.
The parliamentary secretary congratulated both teams for exhibiting sportsmanship, underscoring that such positive activities promote peace in society.
