LAHORE, Apr 01 (APP):The funeral prayer of martyred CCD Constable Razaq Dogar, who embraced martyrdom in firing by armed criminals, was offered at Police Lines Qila Gujjar Singh, on Wednesday.
Inspector General of Police Abdul Kareem, senior officers, including Bilal Siddique Kamyana, Sohail Zafar Chattha, Waqas-ul-Hasan and other officials, along with a large number of police personnel attended the funeral prayer.
A Punjab Police spokesperson said a smartly turned-out police contingent presented a salute to the martyr, while the IGP Punjab laid a floral wreath on the coffin and offered prayers for the departed soul.
The IGP met the martyr’s family members and paid tribute to his sacrifice, assuring them of full support and welfare. The martyred constable is survived by a daughter and two sons.
Later, the IG Punjab visited Jinnah Hospital Lahore to inquire after injured Constable Imran Ashraf, who was wounded in the same incident. He directed provision of the best medical facilities and prayed for his early recovery.
Abdul Kareem said that police personnel risking their lives to protect citizens were a source of pride for the nation.
