F-10 crackdown: 7 detained as workshops clear roads of under-repair vehicles

ISLAMABAD, Apr 01 (APP):The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration on Wednesday took action in Sector F-10 against auto workshops for blocking roads with under-repair vehicles.
During the operation, seven individuals were detained and several vehicles were removed from roadsides. The step aims to restore pedestrian movement and improve traffic flow in the area.
Assistant Commissioner Shalimar led the operation after receiving complaints about workshops using public roads to park vehicles under repair. Officials said this practice reduced road space and created problems for both pedestrians and motorists.
During the drive, teams visited multiple workshops and directed owners to clear the roads immediately. Vehicles parked outside workshops were removed to reopen blocked areas. Seven people were taken into custody for violating rules related to public space and road use.
Officials stated that repeated instructions had been issued earlier, but some workshops did not comply. The administration then decided to take action to ensure roads remain open for public use.
Authorities warned that further action will follow if violations continue. Workshop owners have been advised to keep vehicles within their premises and avoid using public roads for repair work or parking.
