Rawalpindi police hold workshop on ‘Behavioural Change’

A training workshop was organized at Police Headquarters on Wednesday to bring positive changes in the behaviour of police officers and enhance service delivery to the public, in accordance with the vision of Chief Minister Punjab and directives of Inspector General of Police Punjab Abdul Karim.

RAWALPINDI, Apr 01 (APP): A training workshop was organized at Police Headquarters on Wednesday to bring positive changes in the behaviour of police officers and enhance service delivery to the public, in accordance with the vision of Chief Minister Punjab and directives of Inspector General of Police Punjab Abdul Karim.

Superintendent of Police Security, Deputy Superintendent of Police Legal, and other senior officers delivered lectures during the session. Investigation officers and staff, Elite Force personnel, traffic staff and lady police officers from across the district participated in the training.

The workshop focused on improving the attitude and moral training of police personnel. Officers were directed to ensure protection of citizens’ dignity, self-respect and fundamental rights in all circumstances.

They were instructed to treat women, elders and children with courtesy and resolve their issues on priority basis. Emphasis was placed on building trust between police and the public through civilized and professional conduct.

Police personnel were directed to deal with citizens at police stations, pickets, offices and service centres with respect and politeness. They were also told to use soft language while interacting with the public and to wear clean and proper uniforms as per Standard Operating Procedures.

It was made clear that delays in service delivery, negligence and irresponsible behaviour would not be tolerated. Protection of citizens and quality service delivery remain the foremost responsibility of the police.
