The Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) on Wednesday disclosed that 27 government departments in its region are defaulters with outstanding electricity dues exceeding Rs.3,471 million.

FAISALABAD, Apr 01 (APP): The Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) on Wednesday disclosed that 27 government departments in its region are defaulters with outstanding electricity dues exceeding Rs.3,471 million.
According to FESCO spokesperson,Muhammad Saeed Raza, notices have been issued to the departments, urging them to clear their dues immediately.
He warned that electricity connections would be disconnected in case of further delay.
Among the defaulters,WASA Faisalabad tops the list with Rs1,942.49 million outstanding.
The Punjab Irrigation and Power Department owes Rs179.79 million, while Punjab SCARP has dues of Rs78.59 million.
Other major defaulters include THQ Hospital Mianwali (Rs.75.58 million),THQ Hospital Sargodha (Rs59.11 million),Ministry of Railways Pakistan (Rs52.66 million), THQ Bhakkar (Rs.51.81 million) and Punjab Police (Rs50.51 million).
Several other departments,including TMAs and health institutions across Chiniot, Khushab, Toba Tek Singh and Jhang, also owe significant amounts while remaining departments collectively have pending dues of Rs665.12 million.
Meanwhile,FESCO Chief Executive Officer,Muhammad Aamer has directed staff to accelerate the recovery campaign and ensure full recovery,warning that no negligence will be tolerated.
He urged all government institutions to fulfill their responsibility by clearing dues promptly,stating that power connections will be disconnected without exception in case of non-payment.
