Four doctors suspended, MS, head Lady Wellingdon Hospital summoned on video incident

LAHORE, Mar 27 (APP):The Punjab government has taken strict action against those responsible for the video incident at Lady Willingdon Hospital.
According to a notification issued on Friday, MS Lady Willingdon Hospital Dr. Farah Inam and Head of the Gynecology Department Prof. Dr. Uzma Hussain have been summoned to submit their explanations within three days. Meanwhile, the postgraduate training of four doctors — Dr. Tayyaba Fatima Toor, Dr. Maham Amin, Dr. Zainab Tahir and Ayesha Afzal — has been suspended.
The above-mentioned postgraduate residents have been directed to report to the Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department, which has issued a formal notification in this regard. The competent authority has termed the incident a serious case of negligence in the discharge of official duties, reflecting grave malpractice and administrative lapses.
On this occasion, Provincial Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique stated that such actions constitute a violation of medical ethics, an insult to patient dignity, and a breach of professional standards, all of which are strictly prohibited under government rules and hospital SOPs.
Secretary Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department Azmat Mahmood said that disciplinary action will be initiated if a satisfactory response is not submitted within the stipulated time.
