Court concludes hearing in Ali Zafar’s defamation suit against Meesha Shafi

LAHORE, Mar 26 (APP):A sessions court on Thursday completed proceedings in singer Ali Zafar’s defamation suit against singer Meesha Shafi after concluding arguments from both sides.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Asif Hayat heard the case, during which counsel for both parties completed oral arguments and also submitted written arguments before the court.
The court observed that if further assistance is required on any legal point, lawyers from both sides would be asked to assist on March 30. It further stated that a date for announcing the verdict would be issued after the next hearing.
Ali Zafar had filed the defamation claim against Meesha Shafi in 2018, alleging reputational damage following public allegations made by the singer.
