Zong advances sustainability agenda with tree plantation drive

ISLAMABAD, Mar 26 (APP): Zong, the leading technology service enterprise, has advanced its sustainability agenda through a tree plantation drive in collaboration with the Ministry of Climate Change and Environmental Coordination, Government of Pakistan.

The initiative reflects Zong’s strategic vision of integrating technological innovation with environmental stewardship, demonstrating how digital leaders can play a pivotal role in addressing climate change and strengthening national
climate resilience.

Through strong institutional partnerships, Zong continues to drive sustainable practices that contribute to Pakistan’s long-term ecological balance.

Bringing together policymakers from the Ministry of Climate Change, Pak-EPA, and the Capital Development Authority (CDA), alongside Zong’s leadership, the event underscored the impact of multi-stakeholder collaboration in accelerating Pakistan’s green transformation.
Active participation from students and media further amplified the message of collective responsibility, fostering broader awareness around environmental protection and sustainable living.
As part of the drive, indigenous and climate-resilient saplings were planted in areas of Shakarparian facing the Islamabad Expressway, focusing on zones that have experienced a decline in green cover. This targeted afforestation effort contributes directly to urban greening, carbon reduction, biodiversity enhancement, and improved air quality in the capital.
Ms Nabila Yazdani, Director of Strategy at Zong, emphasised the company’s long-term commitment to environmental stewardship, stating “This initiative reflects our belief that sustainability must be embedded at the core of how we operate as a technology enterprise. Beyond planting trees, we are fostering a culture of environmental responsibility, empowering our people to actively contribute to climate action and adopt sustainable practices in their everyday decisions. At Zong, this is an ongoing journey toward building a greener, more resilient future”
Beyond this initiative, Zong is driving a clear strategic agenda: integrating green technology and environmental responsibility into the core of its operations. By delivering energy-efficient, future-ready solutions and sustainable innovation, the enterprise is helping to make Pakistan cleaner and greener.
Through sustained efforts like these, Zong is positioning itself not only as a technology enabler but as a catalyst for sustainable development, reinforcing its commitment that the future of connectivity is powered by green technology and guided by environmental responsibility.
