CM’s Green Bus initiative benefits over 32.5 million commuters

LAHORE, Mar 25 (APP): Under the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the Green Bus Service operated by the Punjab Transport Company continues its successful journey of public service, achieving remarkable milestones since its launch.
According to official statistics, more than 32.5 million passengers have benefited from the modern, comfortable, and environment-friendly bus service across the province. Of these, over 13.7 million passengers availed completely free travel facilities, including a significant number of women, senior citizens, persons with disabilities, and students.
Additionally, more than 18.8 million commuters travelled at a highly subsidised fare of just Rs20, reflecting the government’s commitment to providing affordable and quality transport to the public.
Punjab Transport Company Chief Executive Officer Mehr Abdul Rauf, in a statement on Wednesday, said that the Green Bus Service is delivering high-standard travel facilities to citizens. He highlighted that all buses are equipped with free Wi-Fi and mobile charging facilities, enhancing passenger convenience. He added that advanced surveillance cameras installed in buses ensure real-time monitoring to guarantee passenger safety.
The CEO added that the Punjab Transport Company remains committed to providing dignified, safe, and comfortable travel, and will continue to take further steps to improve and expand the service in the future.
