Excise Dept seizes 36kg hashish, arrests two

PESHAWAR, Mar 25 (APP):The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Excise Taxation and Narcotics Control Department on Wednesday seized 36 kilograms of hashish and arresting two suspects during an operation here.

The action was carried out in line with the KP government’s zero-tolerance policy and on the directives of Syed Fakhar Jahan, officials said.

According to details, the Excise Intelligence Bureau, under the supervision of Saud Khan Gandapur and Majid Khan, conducted an operation at Haji Camp area here.

During the operation, an intelligence squad led by Inspector Fakhar Alam Khan and Sub-Inspector Fayyaz Khan intercepted a suspicious vehicle (LEB-4852). Upon search, approximately 36,000 grams of hashish was recovered from the vehicle.

Two suspects, identified as Zeeshan and Muhammad Tariq, residents of Lahore, were arrested on the spot. A case has been registered against them at the Excise Police Station Peshawar Region, and further investigation is underway.

Officials reiterated that the ongoing campaign against narcotics would continue without interruption, and strict legal action would be taken against those involved in drug trafficking.
