FDA’s governing body approves implementation of reforms in Private Housing Schemes Rules-2021

Faisalabad Development Authority’s governing body approved implementation on reforms made in the Punjab Development Authorities Private Housing Schemes Rules-2021.

FAISALABAD, Mar 24 (APP):Faisalabad Development Authority’s governing body approved implementation on reforms made in the Punjab Development Authorities Private Housing Schemes Rules-2021.
The reforms have been approved by the Punjab Cabinet on the recommendations of a Cabinet Sub-Committee headed by the Provincial Minister for Housing, Urban Development and Public Health Engineering.
The reforms have been made to regularize the illegal housing schemes, approval of the private housing schemes and inspection after approval.
The meeting also discussed the matter of selling 284 residential plots located in FDA city to FESCO, rather than selling on 4-years installments to the general public through lucky draws.
Earlier, Director General FDA Muhammad Asif Chaudhry briefed the meeting on the housing reforms.
Commissioner Raja Jahangir Anwar, while emphasizing the need to make the legal framework for private housing schemes more comprehensive, systematic and in line with future requirements, termed the reforms approved by the Punjab Cabinet as auspicious and said that their concrete implementation would help in controlling the problems of illegal housing schemes in the future.
It was informed in the meeting that under the reforms, the housing society management system will be implemented effectively and new housing schemes will be approved under the digital system, for which the Departments of Environment, Irrigation, WASA, Solid Waste Management, Soil Test and other NOCs will be standardized in a uniform manner.
In addition, the housing reforms include provisions for adding a new category of affordable housing scheme for the low-income group, releasing mortgaged plots, advertising private housing schemes through media, selling public sites, registration of property dealers, effective monitoring and enforcement mechanism, strict laws for penal action against elements guilty of illegal development and other violations, and mechanism for regularization of illegal housing schemes.
