40 lives lost, over thousand affected in 484 Eid related incidents in KP

The celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were overshadowed by a series of tragic incidents, as a total of 484 emergencies were reported during the three days of Eid, resulting in the loss of 40 precious lives and leaving scores of others injured.

PESHAWAR, Mar 24 (APP):The celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were overshadowed by a series of tragic incidents, as a total of 484 emergencies were reported during the three days of Eid, resulting in the loss of 40 precious lives and leaving scores of others injured.

According to a report released by Rescue 1122 on Tuesday, the incidents included 484 road traffic accidents, 1,261 medical emergency cases, 62 fire incidents, 33 cases of violence, five drowning incidents and 50 other emergency situations across the province.

In total, 1,993 individuals including women, children and the elderly received medical assistance during this period.

The Director General of Rescue 1122 stated that a special emergency plan was implemented for Eid, under which staff leave were cancelled to ensure a swift and effective response to any emergency situation.

Authorities have urged the public to exercise caution and follow safety measures, especially during festive occasions to prevent such tragedies in the future.
