Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) responded to more than 1,550 emergency calls during three days of Eid-ul-Fitr 2026 and rescued 1,631 victims in various incidents in Faisalabad which highlighted the extensive operational readiness and timely response of emergency services across the district.

FAISALABAD, Mar 24 (APP): Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) responded to more than 1,550 emergency calls during three days of Eid-ul-Fitr 2026 and rescued 1,631 victims in various incidents in Faisalabad which highlighted the extensive operational readiness and timely response of emergency services across the district.
Giving some details, Rescue 1122 spokesman said here on Tuesday that road traffic accidents remained the most prominent emergencies, with 469 cases reported during Eid holidays.
The medical emergencies accounted for the highest number of calls at 924, reflecting the increased need for immediate healthcare assistance during the festive period.
He said that Rescue 1122 also responded to eight fire incidents, 36 crime-related emergencies, 27 fall cases, 81 rescue operations and one drowning incident, demonstrating the diverse range of challenges handled by the emergency teams.
He said that during these emergencies, total 1,631 affected individuals were provided timely assistance. Out of these, 885 victims were administered first aid on the spot while Rescue 1122 teams shifted 691 victims to nearby hospitals for further medical treatment.
He said that the average response time during Eid holidays was recorded at 6.72 minutes which clearly shows efficiency and preparedness of the service in handling emergency situations promptly.
He said that motorbike emergency service played a significant role and responded to 826 incidents particularly in congested areas where quick access is often challenging for larger rescue vehicles.
Meanwhile, District Emergency Officer (DEO) Rescue 1122 Engr. Ehtesham Wahla appreciated the performance and dedication of rescue teams and said that special arrangements had been made during Eid to ensure uninterrupted emergency services for the public.
He said that additional staff and resources were deployed to handle the expected surge in emergencies during the festive days.
He urged the citizens to adopt precautionary measures especially while traveling to minimize road accidents and ensure their own safety and other road-users.
He also emphasized the importance of responsible behavior during celebrations to avoid unnecessary risks.
