Thousands of saplings planted at Tummy Hilltop in Galiyat

On the occasion of Pakistan Day, the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa launched a historic tree plantation campaign across the province, setting a target of planting one million saplings in a single day.

NATHIAGALI, Mar 24 (APP): On the occasion of Pakistan Day, the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa launched a historic tree plantation campaign across the province, setting a target of planting one million saplings in a single day.
In District Abbottabad, the campaign was carried out on a large scale. Plantation activities were organized in the Galiyat region, where a major event took place at Tummy Top under the supervision of Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Gohar Ali, in collaboration with the Forest Department.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Gohar Ali, along with Additional Assistant Commissioner Galiyat Muhammad Tariq and DFO Galiyat Division Taimur Ilyas, actively participated in the plantation by planting saplings.
Schoolchildren also took part enthusiastically in the campaign, contributing significantly by planting a large number of trees and demonstrating a strong commitment to environmental protection.
Under this initiative, a target of planting 64,000 saplings has been set for Abbottabad district, with a substantial number already planted at Tummy Top.
The event was attended by DFO Galiyat Division Taimur Ilyas, Additional Assistant Commissioner Galiyat Muhammad Tariq, SDFO, ASDFO, DFO Monitoring, ADEO Education, and other relevant officials.
