Sindh Minister reaffirms commitment to culture, unity on Pakistan Day

Provincial Minister for Culture, Tourism and Antiquities Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah on Monday extended greetings to the nation on Pakistan Day, describing March 23, 1940 as a historic and defining moment when the Muslims of the subcontinent laid the foundation of their destiny.

MIRPURKHAS, Mar 23 (APP): Provincial Minister for Culture, Tourism and Antiquities Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah on Monday extended greetings to the nation on Pakistan Day, describing March 23, 1940 as a historic and defining moment when the Muslims of the subcontinent laid the foundation of their destiny. He stated that the Pakistan Resolution remains a significant milestone in the country’s political and ideological journey, while emphasizing that Sindh has always played a vital role in supporting the cause of Pakistan.
In his message, the minister noted that Sindh, known as the land of Sufis and peace, has consistently promoted harmony and unity. He highlighted that the Sindh Assembly was the first to pass a resolution in favor of Pakistan, moreover terming it a reflection of the province’s enduring commitment to the national cause. He also described Pakistan’s culture as a unique and rich blend of diverse civilizations, urging citizens to preserve cultural values and heritage actively.
Paying tribute to the heroes of the freedom movement, Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah said their sacrifices continue to inspire the nation. He stressed that eliminating extremism and promoting tolerance are essentially aligned with the vision of Quaid-e-Azam, therefore calling for collective efforts to build a peaceful and progressive society. He added that unity, faith, and discipline remain the guiding principles for national development.
Furthermore, the minister reiterated his commitment to safeguarding the country’s stability and promoting its positive image globally. He said the historical sites and antiquities of Sindh are a valuable symbol of the nation’s glorious past, while their preservation can strengthen tourism and cultural identity. Consequently, he concluded that through unity and discipline, Pakistan can overcome challenges and achieve lasting progress.
