Over 12,000 rescuers deployed across Punjab for Eid duty

LAHORE, Mar 21 (APP):Secretary Emergency Services Dr. Rizwan Naseer on Saturday said that Rescue 1122 had been put on high alert across Punjab on the directions of the chief minister to ensure public safety during Eid-ul-Fitr.
According to a Rescue 1122 spokesperson, more than 12,000 rescuers have been deployed at key locations across the province under the Eid-ul-Fitr Medical Cover.
Sharing details, Dr. Rizwan said that 2,300 motorbikes, 896 ambulances and 316 fire vehicles had been stationed across Punjab to respond to emergencies.
He added that the Provincial Emergency Operations Centre was monitoring rescue operations round-the-clock, while special rescue posts had been established at major Eid congregations.
The secretary said that District Emergency Officers were leading operations in their respective districts, adding that routine rescue services would continue alongside the Eid Medical Cover.
He urged citizens to contact the nearest rescue post or dial helpline 1122 in case of any emergency.
