WASA directs contractors for strict safety compliance at development sites

FAISALABAD, Mar 18 (APP):Water & Sanitation Agency (WASA) Managing Director (MD) Saqib Raza has directed the contractors to ensure complete safety arrangements at all ongoing development schemes and submit compliance certificates before Eid-ul-Fitr as no compromise would be tolerated on public safety.
Issuing instructions to the field formations during a meeting, he emphasized that although construction activities would remain suspended during Eid holidays, yet all development sites must remain secured. He ordered that the sites involving deep excavation must be properly fenced and guarded while other points must be barricaded and cordoned off fully to prevent any untoward incidents.
He further directed the Directors Construction to actively monitor safety measures at all project sites to ensure strict implementation of precautionary protocols during the Eid holidays. The move aims to safeguard citizens and avoid any accidents in the absence of construction activity, he added.
He said that in line with the directions of Chief Minister (CM) Punjab Maryam Nawaz, all standard operating procedures regarding safety at construction sites would be enforced in letter and spirit. Any negligence or violation would be dealt with strictly for ensuring full compliance across all ongoing schemes, he added.
