ISLAMABAD, Mar 18 (APP):Pakistan junior girls’ tennis team has advanced to the Top-8 of the Junior Billie Jean King Cup Asia/Oceania Qualifying event, currently underway in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
According to details, placed in Group A alongside Singapore and Macau, Pakistan lost its opening tie against Singapore but made a strong comeback by defeating Macau 2-1 to secure qualification for the quarterfinal stage.
In the first singles, Hajra Sohail lost to Emma Ieong 0-6, 3-6 while Zunaisha Noor beat Hong Tai Woo 6-0, 6-4 in the second singles.
In a nail-biting doubles match, Pakistan were down 4-5 in the first set but came back to win the match, Zunaisha Noor, Hajra Sohail beat Emma / Hong Tai 7-6(2), 6-3.
The Pakistan team comprises: Sara Mansoor (Captain) while players include Romaisa Malik, Hajra Sohail, Zunaisha Noor.
The President PTF, Secretary General PTF, and the management of PTF has congratulated the team on qualifying for the Top-8.
