PESCO starts four-day workweek, grounds 60% vehicles

PESHAWAR, Mar 14 (APP):The Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) has implemented major austerity measures to reduce energy consumption and operational expenses.
According to PESCO officials on Saturday, 60 percent of the department’s official vehicles have been parked in garages for two months as part of the cost-saving initiative.
Under the new policy, employees will work only four days a week, from Monday to Thursday. However, staff members will be required to remain available online during holidays for official communication if needed.
In addition, the use of protocol vehicles has been completely stopped and all meetings will now be conducted online.
PESCO has also reduced the use of air conditioners by 50 percent to save electricity and lower expenses.
Officials say these measures are part of a broader effort to promote energy conservation and financial discipline within the organization.
