Authorities have decided to enhance security arrangements in the federal capital by installing security gates, protective fencing and modern CCTV cameras at key locations across the city.

ISLAMABAD, Mar 14 (APP): Authorities have decided to enhance security arrangements in the federal capital by installing security gates, protective fencing and modern CCTV cameras at key locations across the city.
The decision was taken during a meeting held at the Capital Development Authority (CDA) headquarters, the other day,  chaired by CDA Chairman and Chief Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Ali Randhawa.
Officials briefed the meeting on the progress of measures aimed at strengthening security in Islamabad. It was informed that work was underway on the installation of entry and exit gates to ensure security at sensitive areas and important buildings in the city.
The meeting was also told that protective fencing was being installed around major entry and exit points of the capital to further enhance safety measures.
Officials said modern CCTV cameras would be installed at important locations and a monitoring mechanism would be established to keep surveillance over sensitive areas.
Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa directed the authorities to expedite work on the installation of security gates and protective fencing, emphasising that security arrangements at the Diplomatic Enclave, Red Zone and other sensitive areas were being upgraded on modern lines.
He also instructed officials from the CDA, police and district administration to regularly visit their respective areas to review progress on security-related projects.
Randhawa said no compromise would be made on the security of the federal capital and that all available resources were being utilised to ensure the protection of citizens’ lives and property.
The meeting was attended by CDA Member Engineering Syed Nafasat Raza, Member Finance Tahir Naeem, Member Design and Planning Dr Khalid Hafiz, along with senior officials from the CDA, Islamabad Police and the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration.
