Divisional Commissioner and Administrator Municipal Corporation Raja Jahangir Anwar has approved the construction of multi-storey commercial buildings along with parking plazas on five municipal corporation properties located in the city center to address long-standing parking issues.

FAISALABAD, Mar 13 (APP):Divisional Commissioner and Administrator Municipal Corporation Raja Jahangir Anwar has approved the construction of multi-storey commercial buildings along with parking plazas on five municipal corporation properties located in the city center to address long-standing parking issues.
Chairing a meeting, he granted this approval and decided that multi-storey buildings would be constructed at selected sites with spacious basement parking facilities for motorcycles.
He said that valuable municipal land at Aminpur Bazaar, three different locations on Imam bargah Road near Douglas Pura and outside Karkhana Bazaar would be utilized for this project.
He said that commercial plazas would house more than 250 shops along with dedicated parking plazas, creating parking space for more than 1,000 motorcycles and around 250 cars.
This project is expected to resolve persistent parking problems being faced by the citizens in at least eight major bazaars and adjoining areas in the city center, he added.
He further said that shops and offices in the new plazas would be rented out and necessary groundwork for the leasing process was already underway.
He directed the concerned departments to immediately prepare PC-1 for construction of the projects so that development work could begin without delay.
Director General (DG) Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) Muhammad Asif Chaudhary, Additional Commissioner (Coordination) Tanveer Murtaza, Chief Officer Municipal Corporation Murtaza Malik, Director Development Asif Chauhan, Municipal Officers Azmat Firdous and Shireen Newton and others were also present in the meeting.
